micro-MODUL-8051

The microMODUL-8051 is an insert-ready Single Board Computer offering 8051/80C32 standard 8-bit architecture in matchbox-size (51 x 36 mm) dimensions. The board's small footprint is attained by the newest SMD- and multi-layer technology and easily allows its insertion as a "big chip" into user hardware lay-outs. The Intel 80C51FA is the standard on-board CPU. A complex logic device allows insertion of any PLCC-44 8XC51/80C32 derivative into the board's controller socket.
The standard memory configuration of the microMODUL-8051 features 32 (up to 128) KB SRAM and 128 (up to 512) KB Flash for storage of user code. The SRAM can be buffered by an external battery. The 40-pin IC provides an 8-bit bi-directional I/O port and two timers. Three free chip-select signals are available for external I/O switches. All controller signals and ports are extended from the controller to the pin rows aligning three edges of the board, including 32 I/O pins.
The board communicates by means of an RS-232 transceiver (optionally configurable as RS-485 for networking purposes) for download of user code or memory mapping. The microMODUL-8051 operates within a standard industrial temperature range of 0 to 70 degrees C (with an extended range from -40 to 85 degrees C) and requires a low 5 V/ca 45 mA power source. It can be easily programmed with standard 8051-compatible software development tools. With the help of the included PHYTEC's FlashTools firmware, user code (in Intel hex-file format) is easily downloaded to the Flash via an RS-232 connection to a host PC.
